Thanks for turning me on to Graciela Iturbide. Looks like her "ordinary moments" are in fact quite extraordinary. Those two bird images are amazing. I'm interested to her more about the dreams and symbol part from her perspective.
Great photos, Pierre! I've tried shooting with expired color film using my Konica rangefinder recently, and the results were... unacceptable, to put it mildly. Fuzzy and washed out. Maybe it's the cheap lab I'm using or maybe I don't know how to use the camera properly. I ended up converting nearly all of the photos to b&w... except one.
I can tell that it had the psychological effect of freeing me from expectations: i was shooting with less caution and more rapidly. But i do not have enough practice to assess the consequences of the film being past its expiry date - based on recommendations, i knew the lab would know what to do.
The early color pioneer,Saul Leiter, made a career out of shooting expired on the street. He loved the exaggerated results, in part, because he was first a painter. The technique provided him with a super saturated palette in his camera.

She's truly inspirational. Maybe of interest: there's more of her bird photographs in this book: https://www.delpireandco.com/produit/des-oiseaux-iturbide/
Wonderful photo series with red as a guideline! ;)
Thank you 🙏🏻

I'm curious if you can describe the effects the "expiration" had on the outcomes? What impact on the color, for instance?
