Just be part of the chaos of life for a moment
[TIL #20] An immersion in the agitated life of Pettah Market, Colombo, Sri Lanka
First comes acceptance.
Accept the heat, accept the sweat, accept the chaos, accept the agitation, accept the smells, accept the sounds and the noise, accept the strong light, accept the shadows — accept everything there is and move with everything that moves around you.
Do not judge.
The movement is not always fast but it is constant: you need to be attentive at all times. Act swiftly when making an image. Do not check the screen. Stay on the move through the disorder that surrounds you.
Be mindful of fellow human beings, be respectful, be kind. Do not become an obstacle. Broadcast a smile when you meet someone’s eyes. Do not wait for the world to notice you, do not expect the world to arrange itself to your liking.
Just try and be part of it for a moment.
These are images from a recent immersion in the animated market life of the Pettah neighbourhood in Colombo.

Fujifilm x-t3, XF 16-55 mm f 2.8. The 16-55 lens turns the camera into a heavier and more noticeable device, but it combines quality and versatility: to me, that’s a good choice for a one-lens day out when you can expect to run into a variety of situations.
I’m grateful that you’re taking the time to read the Tales of Ink and Light. Do not hesitate to write back and let me know what you think.
I especially like the first photograph and the one with a yellow door or wall and a blue roller shutter – really gorgeous
Awesome visual depiction of chaos! We are in sync this week, tomorrow's prompt has a similar idea.
